Moving right along! J
The second weekend of school we went to the Auckland War Memorial Museum. It
was an adventure trying to figure out how to get from the bus stop from
downtown to the Park area where the museum was. Upon getting there, we went to
a cultural Maori Performance, which was really cool to watch. Then we all
roamed free throughout the museum for 3 hours.
As we roamed around we saw some
really cool stuff. There were volcano exhibits with an interactive house that
lets you feel what it would be like in an earthquake. There was an ocean exhibit,
bird exhibit, Maori culture exhibit, modern culture exhibit, All Blacks rugby
exhibit and many, many, many other exhibits… it was HUGE! They even had stuff
on all major wars, the holocausts, guns, planes and other knowledgeable
exhibits. The exhibit that made me jump out of my seat a little bit was the
interactive animal exhibit. They had the different kinds of bug and such in NZ
as well as a few others, but instead of replicas, they had real live bug in there!
It was kind of freaky sitting next to a glass case, thinking it is just an
exhibit, but surprise! It’s not!
That is one big...Emu? Something like that
After the Auckland museum, we went to
the first rugby game of the season here! We watched the Auckland Blues play the
Christchurch Crusaders. Both teams had quite a few team members who are on the
national “All Blacks” NZ rugby team. It was a fun game and made me think a lot
about Eric. L
I miss him. I also thought of Shelley too. J It was way fun and way
intense. I rooted for the Blues and they lost by 1 point... If they didn't miss their last try, then they would've won the game... bummer. At least I got a free blues flag from the game!

Way intense - o the memories! Love mom
