First Day of School: Fast-track Style

      Once we got to school (which is an LDS chapel in north Henderson I believe), we had a devotional in one room and then we started class. Carol Andersen, a native NZ gave us an introduction to New Zealand, it’s culture/native Mauri culture and some Mauri words, introduction to the New Zealand school systems and terms that they use here in NZ, that we may not know.

      After the morning intro, we had our literacy class taught by Carol as well. She is really nice, but super soft spoken… So it’s rather difficult to hear her and I have resorted to sitting about 5 feet away from her in my own seat just holding my notebook so I can hear her and take notes… Today (Jan 9^th) we set the tables and chairs up differently so we were closer to the teacher and that was nice to be able to sit at a table and take notes instead. Right now we are taking our literacy class and assessment class. We have assessment in the morning and literacy in the afternoon (Ramona Cutri, our BYU professor teaches assessment). We are learning at a fast pace and will be finished with those 2 classes by Friday. Starting after these classes will be Maths which is all next week both morning and afternoon.
